The graduate course“Biochemistry and Cell Biology of Parasites”in this semester will discuss the parasitic mechanisms of parasitic protozoa, especially Apicomplexa parasites. The topics will included but not are limited to: sugar and lipid metabolism, parasite invasion, and gene regulation. The lecturer Nishith Gupta is from Humboldt University in Berlin. He is a well-known expert in the field of host-parasite interactions (particularly interactions between host cells and parasitic protozoa Toxoplasma gondii, coccidia, Cryptosporidium, etc.) and parasite metabolism.
